Lost Destination: Highbury

Regular price £35.00

Highbury was originally designed by Archibald Leitch and then significantly redesigned in the Art Deco style in the 1930s by Claude Waterlow Ferrier and William Binnie. Arsenal played their final game at Highbury on 7 May 2006 when Thierry Henry scored a hat-trick against Wigan Athletic to secure a crucial victory for the club. In 2010 the stadium was redeveloped and converted into flats. The Grade II listed buildings of the East and West Stands were retained as part of the development.

One of four football stadium additions to our Lost Destination series of prints which takes inspiration from the iconic travel posters of the first half of the 20th century. They celebrate buildings that in their heyday were destinations in their own right but have since been either immersed in the everyday or demolished.
