Our NEW summer show features paintings and prints by New Zealand born / Liverpool based artist Joël Penkman. Her photorealistic artwork of ice creams, lollipops and cocktails will evoke a sense of Summer even if it's raining outside!
Summer Lovin' runs from 18th July - 23rd August 2024. This is a selling exhibition. Original paintings and Giclée prints will be available to buy for the duration of the show.
Originally from the South Island of New Zealand, Joël studied Graphic Design at Canterbury University. After graduating she moved to the UK and worked as a graphic designer for 7 years before making the move to painting in 2011.
Her work is in egg tempera, a paint that is made by mixing egg yolk with powdered pigment and a little water. She is represented by the agency Handsome Frank and has produced artwork for clients including McDonald's, Bombay Sapphire, Eat, Phaidon, Chronicle books, Waitrose, The Fine Cheese Co., Financial Times, Esquire and The Guardian. Her work was selected for the Royal Academy of the Arts Summer Exhibition, 2012
