Road to Nowhere: Blur Junction
Parklife is the title track from Blur's third album of the same name and was released in August 1994. Country House was a single from the band's fourth album, The Great Escape, and was released in August 1995.
Both singles played a part in what the press dubbed 'The Battle of Britpop' between Blur and Oasis, when the bands went head to head and released singles on the same day. Blur's Country House outsold Oasis's Roll With It to become the band's first number one single. Never one to forget (or forgive) Liam Gallagher changed the lyrics of Parklife to Shite-life when accepting the Award for Best Album at the BRITS in 1986.
